You can only merge pets with the same emblem

Assist Skills
You can have two pets up on the pedestal alongside your deployed pet. The level of your assist pets does NOT matter for assisting. A level 1 pet serves the same purpose as a level 110 pet. However, the rarity of the pet DOES matter. Assist skills are NOT pet specific. Pets come with one of five basic generic assist skills when you first get them.
- Increase pet’s max HP
- Increase pet’s attack and skill damage
- Increase pet’s attack and skill range
- Increase pet’s skill duration
- Increase pet’s skill penetration
NOTE: Gary has a unique assist skill that gives additional cooldown to your deployed pet. It’s one of best pet assist skills. Unfortunately, Gary is a limited time offer pet that might or might not come back in future events.
Pets Leveling
Pets require cookies to level. You can buy up to 3 batches of cookies with gold from the cookie vendor everyday. Only buy 1 batch of cookies per day if they get progressively more expensive to buy. The prices reset every day.

Pets Awakening
You can awaken a pet when it reaches epic quality. A pet can be awakened up to 10 times by feeding it copies of itself alongside . It gets progressively more expensive as you make your way up the levels. Below is a lovely visual made by @ϻaтσяυ showcasing the cost of awakening at each level and the boosts it provides. NOTE: The arrival of the pet awakening system brought along skill switching with it. Pets are no longer bound to one set of passive skills. You can switch pet passive skills by clicking on the small icon above them. It’s a very nice feature that let you customize pets according to the your needs.

Best Pet
The best pet in game is Murica. Murica by itself can single handily carry you through boss fights. Every new player should follow this game plan:
- Get eagle to epic quality as soon as possible.
- Awaken it to yellow 1 star.
- Get it to legendary quality.
- Awaken eagle further.

Pet Toys
Pet toys boost your pet’s affection, which in turns boost your health and attack. You get +15 ATK and +60 HP for every 100 affection.
- Blue toys: +10 affection
- Purple toys: +50 affection
- Yellow toys: +150 affection
Every pet has their preferred toys. A pet gets x2 affection if you gift them their preferred them. The lovely table made by @JJ_G4M3R below list pets and their preferred toys.

NOTE:
- Don’t actively try to get pet toys. It’s almost never worth it. Just get them passively through
daily challenges and
events.
- You get the ATK and HP spread across all pets and not just your deployed pet. This means it’s always worth it to give pets just their preferred toys to maximize affection.
- Affection affects the pet type, not individual pets itself. (i.e. All Rexes in my collection will be at the same affection).
- If your pet reaches max affection for its current awakening level, you will need to awaken your pet further before giving it anymore toys.
